Too Fast [08-24-01]

One stolen moment,
I watched her sleeping.
Trusting calm blanketing
soft, new flesh,
sweet breath sliding
inward, outward...
curl of unused fingers
around an invisible arm
that gave them comfort.
Those eyelids fluttered.

With one, blurred gaze
upon her Bringer,
she smiled a knowing smile,
softly grew the inches
to my height,
enwrapped herself in white,
and carried flowers
down a row
